Hatokuro Yawata, a mysterious swordsman gets to know about his twin brother by his mother on her deathbed. Hatokuro pretends to be a citizen in Edo while he searches for his brother. One day, Hatokuro saves Okyu whose office-worker father was killed by Sanjuro Akaseki of Murasaki Gumi, a powerful crime lord. This results in a fierce fight between Murasaki and Hatokuro.
