Young People (1952)

Four times filmed and with numerous TV adaptations too, it's a popular tale drawn from a newspaper serial novel in the mid 1930s MAZAKI Shintaro is a teacher at a mission school, in a relationship with the English teacher Sumi HASHIMOTO. Young, single and handsome MAZAKI is popular among the women, One day, after reading somethiing unusual in the essay of a third year student called Keiko ENAMI, Mazaki starts to grow interested in her. Keiko's mother runs a bar for sailors and Keiko doesn't know which of her mother's many men is actually her father. Sumi has no confidence to rescue Keiko but warns Mazaki that he must do something. Following a school trip  they go on toghether, Mazaki's interest in Keiko grows. Because she is jealous of Sumi, Keiko tells people that  Mazaki and Sumi are in a relationship and this complicates their relationship. -- czechnewwave.
